“Most definitely NOT fail” - Davymac
First, a huge thank you and congratulations to Andy who very successfully pulled of the organisation of Barcamp on Saturday. Though it wasn’t without miniature disasters and minor fallbacks, which Andy has raised.
Having said that, problems were minor and overcome with the help of understanding participants and attendees, such as Matt’s skills on the wi-fi front.
It was enjoyable and exciting to be around so many bloggers and twitterers in my home town for a change. The speakers did a great job; many promoting a lot of thought and conversation during and after presentations. Darragh and Grannymar’s technique of involving everyone in the room in an open conversation about blogging really stood out. I was curious about Emma Persky’s talk on Vision Based Tracking and now still intrigued as to how possible this technology is beyond waving at your laptop.
With around 80 people, attendance was great. There were plenty of talks and presentations, on a range of subjects, most were very interesting. SO kudos to all who were there. Six months and we do it all again.

I’m so sorry I couldn’t make it to this one and I’m already looking forward to the next one.
Well done to everyone involved.
Really enjoyed the day from dawn to dusk, congrats to Andy and the team. I’ve seen expensive corporate events that weren’t run as well as this. Best part is everyone took part to some degree, we made the day ourselves.
Looking forward to the next one already.
Must dig up those shaving graphics…
I would have loved to attended this but only found out about it from your blog a couple of days beforehand. Where are these events advertised?
@Darren - damn sorry ’bout that. I have just been so preoccupied lately and didnt get a chance to blog about it. I’ll give you a heads up about the next one (6 months possibly).
