Yesterday was an exciting day. You may be aware by now that I love taking photographs, but being without a camera for the last 6 months has made that very difficult. That all changed yesterday.
Finally, I got refunded and quickly got a new camera. That camera arrived at my parents house last weekend. The flash, a few days later. There has been a delay in getting my lens, they are out of stock.
Fortunately, my uncles also use Canon cameras and I kindly permitted to borrow a lens. I met my bro who presented me with what I had so far, then we took the bus to collect the lens. It is a beautiful lens too. A Tamron AF 18-200 mm F3.5 - F6.3 Di-II. The pieces were put together, I took lots of photos.
Of course, just like the last time, I didn’t get an English instruction manual. Its times like this that I wish I could speak Italian, Dutch or French. Pixmania may be based in Europe (Paris, France), but surely they can send an English Manual. PDFs just don’t make for great bed-time reading.
Later we saw 300, which was incredible, then it was dark. So naturally I took pics of everything around the house. Fire extinguisher, door handle, empty wine bottle, taps, cutlery, coffee etc. Oh it felt to good.
Hopefully it won’t take too long to get back into the swing of things, though I have a lot to learn before mastering the flash.
Next on the list of purchases:
diffuserbackpack
card reader, soon after replaced by theVosonic 80gb Driverechargeable AA batteries and charger500gb internal hard drivethen reformat!
Damn its an expensive hobby, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Here are a few photos taken yesterday:

Good stuff. Looking forward to seeing more photos from you.
The next item I need to purchase is a portable storage device with a built-in card-reader for my trip to Africa at the end of the month. And a whole bunch of batteries, don’t think I’ll have access to electricity for a week.
Dave - you mean you don’t like the piano?
Donal - the portable storage device sounds interesting, better still you’re going to Africa! Ohh yeah the charity gig a few weeks ago. I would love to do that!
Looking forward to more good photos and more good words.
