It had been a few days since I had called Pixmania to check on the progress of my camera. This time it the conversation went a little differently. The woman at the other end of the phone said,

“we’ve sent you an email today: ‘Following the receipt of your parcel under the terms of the “Zen Engagement”, we have carried out a technical inspection of your Canon EOS 350D.

The product you returned has been judged to be defective..

We therefore have the pleasure to provide you with this voucher in exchange for your product.The following is the voucher with a value of £497 that you can use to purchase any product on www.Pixmania.com.

*to use the voucher, enter the code “**-****-****-****” into the field for promotional codes when you place your order.

I was very happy after this phone call. The rest of my day was spent looking forward to getting home and ordering my brand spanking new camera. After going for coffee with Ronan in Clements and discussing the weekend plans, I met Sarah and John. We went to the Speakeasy bar in the Union for a few drinks. After two, I had to go; feeling quite ill and not in the mood for drinking at all (more on that later). So I headed home - and early to bed.

===================================

I awoke bright and early this morning, excited about ordering my camera.

The beautiful Canon 400D was waiting for me. Confirm Order. After that I popped over to Shopping4Cameras.com and ordered the Canon Speedlite 430EX, and Canon EF 50mm f1.8 MK2. Now to demand compensation for the stress they caused!

You were lucky. I hope you never havew to use their customer service. Returned a faulty Neo MP3 player. Took them over two weeks to recognise that it had arrived, then another week to send it to for repair. thirteen weeks later it was returned to me still not working. When I spoke to the customer service all they could say was to send it to them again. What and wait another 8 weeks. BE AWARE that the UK sale of goods Act does not apply to them because they are a French company and have no registered office in the UK.
