I was off work all of last week and I fully intended to make the most of it. I would have to say that I definately did! I now believe that I have founds something, something I have been looking for for quite a while now, and its hit so hard and with quite a lot of intensity. Basically, I have found reason to enjoy Belfast. I have found the music scene, great people, and great music! I went out almost every night to various gigs, parties, plays, clubs, and meetings with female folk. Generally much fun was had, and too much money spent.
On top of that I had a huge scare with ‘ye old’ hard drive and managed to ‘lose’ all my data besides the two-month-old stuff I had saved, but that didnt include any of the 4000+ photographs taken between then and now with my recently acquired digital-slr. My prize possession. Which as it happens has a small defect; a dark spot which appears on all of my photographs lately. Fortunately its not obvious on most, mainly those of a large area of the same colour, for instance the sky. But it means I will have to part from it for a while to get it repaired, under warranty so I wont be paying for it.
Getting back to losing my data, yes it was technically all gone, but then a friend of mine, presented me with a wonderful piece of software which to my utter delight has saved everything. I may have done something I would have later regretted if he had actually been in my presence. So all is not lost. I have all the space I need, pc is now up and running, a decent workflow soon to be formed, life is good and soon to be better.
My meetings with females was certainly quite a highlight. I think I gotta work on the second impression too though. Apparently I was ‘funny on saturday’. Hmm…
To the disapproval of certain people, I got my hair cut too. Feels so much better now!
